Jordan Kyrou and Alex Tuch each scored two goals to guide the Washington Capitals to a 5-2 home victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday.

Logan Thompson finished with 23 saves for Washington, including a huge stop on Trevor Zegras with the hosts clinging to a one-goal lead in the third period.

Dylan Strome notched three assists, Jack St. Ivany and

Pierre-Luc Dubois each had two and Aliaksei Protas also scored for the Capitals, who concluded their homestand with a 4-1-0 mark.

The Flyers, meanwhile, have dropped three straight games (0-2-1). Sean Couturier and Matvei Michkov netted goals for Philadelphia, while Joseph Woll made 25 saves.

After notching two goals in Washington's most recent game, Tuch opened the scoring in this one by ramming home a rebound just 1:50 into the contest.

Couturier tied it 4:36 into the second period when he deflected a shot by Nick Seeler past Thompson for his first goal of the season.

Less than three minutes later, Kyrou scored a power-play goal off a rebound, blasting one from a sharp angle past Woll.

The Capitals weren't finished in the period, however, as Protas made it 3-1 with 3:13 left in the session. Vladar turned it over and the puck worked its way to Matt Roy, whose shot from the blue line was tipped by Protas on its way into the net.

Michkov made things interesting with 10:16 remaining in the third period when he scored a power-play goal off a nice feed from Denver Barkey. However, the momentum didn't last long, as a rebound caromed right to Kyrou, who buried it to create a 4-2 edge with 7:09 to play.

Philadelphia, already on the power play, pulled Vladar for a 6-on-4 advantage late in the third period. Travis Sanheim hit the post behind Thompson before Tuch scored an empty-netter on the other end to seal it with 2:24 remaining.
