On a night where both teams failed to create many chances, Nashville SC and the visiting Philadelphia Union played to a 0-0 draw on Wednesday.

Nashville (21-3-8, 71 points) saw its MLS record-tying 10-match home winning streak come to an end, but stretched its overall unbeaten streak to eight matches with the draw (5-0-3).

Philadelphia (13-11-8, 47 points) earned its first shutout since a 5-0 win over San Diego FC on September 12.

The Union, missing Milan Iloski and Cavan Sullivan to injury and Bruno Damiani due to yellow-card accumulation, registered its lone shot on target in the 71st minute. Quinn Sullivan's cross from the right side of the box found Ben Bender, but his effort was met by a brilliant kick save by Brian Schwake.

Nashville SC, who entered the night tied for second in the league with 66 goals, were held without a shot on goal until the 88th minute, when Union goalkeeper Andre Blake easily saved a header by Sam Surridge.

Nashville had its best chance at a winner in the third minute of second-half stoppage time, as a scramble inside the box was eventually cleared out of danger. It turned out to be the last real opportunity for either side before the final whistle.

Schwake kept his 15th clean sheet of the season, making him one of four goalkeepers in MLS history to reach that mark in a single season.

Nashville failed to score for the first time since Sept. 4, a 0-0 draw at New York City FC. Its 10 consecutive home wins were tied with 2023's FC Cincinnati and the 2002 San Jose Earthquakes for the most in MLS history.

With the draw, Nashville SC is three points shy of tying the MLS record for most points in a regular season, set by Inter Miami in 2024.

The Union clinched a spot in the MLS Cup Playoffs by virtue of the New York Red Bulls' 3-2 loss to the New England Revolution.
