Arizona Cardinals rookie running back Jeremiyah Love returned to practice on a limited basis Wednesday ahead of the team's Week 8 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Love has missed Arizona's last two games because of an ankle injury that has troubled him since before the 2026 regular season began.

The third overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft has an opportunity to return this week, although his participation in the remaining practices could determine his availability. The Cardinals have two more practices scheduled before releasing their official game statuses on Friday.

Love's potential return comes as the team manages an extensive injury report. Fifteen players appeared on Wednesday's list, with nine unable to participate. Running back Tyler Allgeier (toe), safety Budda Baker (rest), linebacker Josh Sweat (rest), defensive lineman Walter Nolen III (ankle) and offensive linemen Isaac Seumalo (rest), Elijah Wilkinson (knee) and Jon Gaines II (ankle) were among those sidelined. Zaven Collins (illness) and Mack Wilson Sr. (rest/knee) also missed practice.

Quarterback Carson Beck (back), wide receiver Michael Wilson (ribs), cornerbacks Max Melton (knee) and Kei'Trel Clark (illness), and safety Andrew Wingard (knee) joined Love as limited participants. Michael Wilson wore a yellow non-contact jersey because of his sore ribs.

Arizona has relied on Allgeier and Bam Knight during Love’s absence. In the Week 7 loss to the Denver Broncos, Knight played 53% of the snaps compared with Allgeier's 47%, finishing with 48 rushing yards on seven carries and adding three receptions for 15 yards.

Across his first five NFL games, Love has recorded 245 rushing yards on 67 carries at 3.7 yards per attempt, along with 11 receptions for 36 yards and two touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving.

Should Love be available Sunday, the Cardinals could distribute carries among all three backfield options.
