The New York Jets recently reached a new low on the 2026 NFL season with a tough home loss to the Miami Dolphins, giving Miami its first win of the year in the process. The Jets now sit at 2-5 on the season, with calls for the team to fire head coach Aaron Glenn growing louder by the day.
However, it still might be a while before such a scenario could take place, per the latest reports.
“Most people I talk to think Aaron Glenn will get to coach through the end of this season before the team evaluates the two-year sample and decides whether to bring him back for a third,” reported NFL insider Dan Graziano of ESPN.
Meanwhile, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN noted that “My sense after asking around to those in the industry who closely follow such things is that Glenn likely will get some time to attempt to right the ship, but the hot seat conversation is real, and this job is on the radar for potential change at some point.”
However, Fowler did note that expectations for the Jets entering this season were not exactly sky-high, something that must be taken into account by the team's ownership if they were to consider such a move.

Still, it seems that Glenn will be afforded every opportunity possible to work through the struggles and try to get the Jets into something resembling a competitive football team.
