With the New York Jets coming off a loss to the then-winless Miami Dolphins last Sunday, 28-25, the one storyline coming out of it that could lead to a future trade centers around star wide receiver Garrett Wilson. As fans wonder if Wilson will request a trade from the Jets after recently expressing frustration with targets, offensive coordinator Frank Reich speaks on the situation.

It started with Wilson saying that he is “no doubt” frustrated after a lack of involvement in the offense in the loss to Miami, via SNY Jets, where he caught two passes for 26 yards on three targets. However, Reich would downplay it and called Wilson's thoughts “healthy tension” and explained how his presence on the field led to “100 yards of offense,” via Rich Cimini.

“OC Frank Reich describes Garrett Wilson's frustration as ‘a healthy tension.” Cites 2 examples where Wilson impacted the play without touching the ball. First play of MIA game: Wilson draws 2 defenders on a quick out, leaving Omar Cooper Jr. open down the seam for 52 yards,” Cimini wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

“Third Q: Wilson runs a go route, free safety cheats to his side, leaving the middle open for Cooper,” Cimini continued. “Geno Smith throws a 60-yard strike to Cooper. Reich: ‘Garrett doesn't touch it there, but that's 100 yards of offense.' That said, Reich understands Wilson's frustration: ‘He wants the ball when the game is on the line.'”

At any rate, it remains to be seen what happens with Wilson and New York as he looks to be a bigger part of the offense on Sunday when the 2-5 Jets take on the Las Vegas Raiders.
