Cowboys owner Jerry Jones talked a lot about the team being in the market for a trade addition before they swung a deal for cornerback Joey Porter Jr. at the end of September and he may not be done on that front.
The Cowboys are 2-4 and coming off a pair of dismal performances in losses to the Buccaneers and Packers, but Jones said he believes the team is capable of more than it has shown so far this season. As a result, Jones said at the league meetings on Wednesday that he can envision the team making another deal to bolster their 2026 roster.
“I’ll be real clear, I could see being active at the trade deadline if it was something that could help the team this year,” Jones said, via Albert Breer of SI.com.
Jones added that he does not see a way that the Cowboys would be sellers while playing in a division that has no runaway favorite at the moment.
The Cowboys have three games before the November 10 deadline and their play against the Eagles, Cardinals and Colts could determine just how motivated they are to give up future assets to help their bid for a playoff spot this year.
