The Baltimore Ravens have been up and down without Lamar Jackson in the lineup, recently losing a frustrating game to the divisional rival Cleveland Browns. Jackson has missed two games due to an ankle injury he suffered vs the Tennessee Titans, although optimism has been building that a return could be on the horizon.
However, on Wednesday, the team got a tough update on that front.
“Lamar Jackson is not present at the start of Wednesday’s practice. Tyler Huntley and Joe Fagnano are the Ravens QBs warming up. Jackson hasn’t suited up since injuring his ankle on Oct. 4,” reported Jamison Hensley of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.
The news comes just hours after Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that Jackson was expected to be back at practice on Wednesday.
It's unclear if there was a specific setback that caused Jackson not to be able to return on Wednesday, but it's certainly not the update that Ravens fans were hoping for.

In any case, Jackson's absence at practice certainly doesn't seem to bode well for his status for Baltimore's next game, on Sunday vs the divisional rival Cincinnati Bengals at home. Kickoff for that contest is set for 1:00 pm ET.
