The Chicago Bears defeated the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks in primetime during Monday Night Football. With the victory, Chicago became the first team in NFL history to beat both participants from the previous season's Super Bowl in consecutive primetime games. Jeffery Simmons was one of the key contributors behind the impressive win, making an immediate impact in his first appearance for the Bears.
Following the game, Simmons shared his initial thoughts on representing Chicago for the first time
“I mean, I said in my press conference when I first got here. These guys just keep going. We're going to continue getting them the ball back. Some stuff we got to clean up. Man, I'm so excited to be a Chicago bear, man,” Simmons said.
“Just all the emotions, you know, pregame coming out in the new jersey for the first time. It was a lot of emotion, but I was so happy to see that offense get rolling.”

He also delivered a hit that sent Quenton Nelson tumbling. Even more impressively, the defensive tackle had only participated in two practices with his new teammates before making his first appearance for the franchise.
