Jamie O’Hara wishes Tottenham got relegated and storms out of studio after argument with Jason Cundy boils over

Jamie O’Hara took his Tottenham frustration to new heights by claiming the club should have been relegated last season.

The Sports Bar host endured yet another sombre start to the show on Tuesday night following his beloved Spurs’ Carabao Cup exit to Liverpool.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side were beaten 3-1 at a rain-soaked Anfield to bring about an early end to any hopes of winning the competition.

Goals from Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai were enough to sweep Spurs aside who had pulled one back late on through Conor Gallagher.

The midfielder’s close range finish was Tottenham’s first goal anywhere this season after drawing blanks in their opening four league games.

And with a season that is already mirroring those of the previous two campaigns, O’Hara, who later in the show stormed out of the talkSPORT studio, appeared to have already reached his limit.

O'Hara's passionate tirade

“Seriously, what is going on?,” O’Hara said opening up Tuesday’s show.

“I feel like everyday I wake up and it’s the same thing.

“Every single time Spurs play, I look at the fixtures and I'm like, ‘Spurs are playing tonight, alright, here we go, get beat.’

“I don’t know what to say. It’s groundhog day.

Things were made doubly worse for the ex-Spurs midfielder with partner-in-crime Jason Cundy lapping up every second of his co-host’s misery.

“This is the perfect night again for Cundy. When is my night?” O’Hara ranted.

“I’ve been here for five years and I’ve had one good night. One. The Europa League final, that was it.

“It’s absolute guff, it really is and I’m sick and tired of it. I know it’s all great and everyone enjoys it but this is actually getting ridiculous.

“Where do Spurs go from here? We have got a disease. We don’t know how to win. Even when we score we get beat,

“Every single game no matter what, Spurs get beat. Spend £400million – get beat.

“Score – get beat. New manager – get beat.

“We’ve got a disease."

Cundy then hilariously chimed in describing the disease as an incurable one.

Just when listeners thought O’Hara had got everything off his chest, he made the bold suggestion that Tottenham should have been relegated last season.

“You know what should have happened, we should have gone down. We are so bad,” he added.

“We’re shocking. The only reason we stayed up is because Aston Villa guffed it and Everton jacked it in at the end of the season.

“I thought, we might start the new season and see something different, something positive.

“No, absolute guff again. We don’t deserve to be playing Premier League teams. We are absolutely useless.”

O’Hara then bravely asked his co-host to provide him with one positive from Tuesday’s cup tie to which Cundy cheekily replied: “You scored tonight at a Premier League ground. First time that’s happened this season.”

And that set O’Hara off on yet another rant.

“The problem is we don’t take our chances and are soft,” he said. “Ice creams. We’re like a flake in 30 degree heat.

“And why is [Mathys] Tel still playing? I'd rather Richarlison played.

“He’s guff, he’s terrible, he’s got trampoline feet. He’s everything that’s bad about Tottenham. We signed him for £50m.”

O'Hara storms out of studio

After over an hour of being tormented by talkSPORT's chief wind-up merchant Cundy, it all got a bit much for O'Hara.

The 39-year-old made for a sharp exit mid-show after arguing with Cundy about Mathys Tel's use to the Spurs team.

O'Hara questioned why De Zerbi continues to select the French winger, even suggesting replacing Tel with the exiled Richarlison would be a better option for Spurs.

Cundy launched a defence, albeit a sarcastic one, of Tel's value to the team - and O'Hara decided enough was enough.

After the break, O'Hara returned to his hosting duties for more ribbing by his mate.
