The Milwaukee Brewers won a crazy game on Saturday over the San Diego Padres, in Game 1 of their National League Division Series. Milwaukee outfielder Jackson Chourio caught a fly ball after it hit a roof cable, to help win the game.
Following the game, Chourio spoke about that wild sequence.
“I thought I had a chance on that ball kind of the whole time off the bat,” Chourio said through the team interpreter, per ESPN. “Then the only thing I kind of realized, it changed direction a little bit, but I thought I had a beat on it for the majority of the time.”
Padres batter Ty France hit that ball in the air. He thought it was going to be a home run. San Diego would lose the game to the Brewers, 3-2.
“I stood there and watched it, and it was going [out],” France said. “It was staying fair. It hit a wire, took a right and the guy caught it.”
France was pleading his case after the game, but he wasn't able to change the outcome. San Diego had a 2-0 lead in the contest at one point.

We've got ball tracking, we've got exit velocity, we've got projected distances. We have all that stuff.”
There is a dispute over whether that ball was even going to be fair. Milwaukee felt the ball was headed toward foul territory.
“It was going to be a foul ball for sure,” Brewers manager Pat Murphy said.
San Diego and Milwaukee are playing Game 2 of the NLDS at time of writing. During the regular season, Milwaukee won the National League Central.
