Cooper Flagg's injury status vs. Heat

Flagg is listed as questionable against the Heat, and it remains to be seen whether he will play. Flagg suffered his shoulder injury after Aaron Nesmith came over from behind to contest Flagg's breakaway layup attempt. He fell hard on his left shoulder and left the game. The Mavs still went on to beat the Pacers without Flagg, 121-105. Kyrie Irving led the team with 24 points in 25 minutes, while PJ Washington added a 20-point, 13-rebound double-double.

Flagg had 14 points, five rebounds and six assists before exiting. In his only full game to date, he dropped 32 points, five rebounds, and two assists in a 128-110 loss against the Houston Rockets.

In the immediate aftermath of Flagg's injury, the Mavs released a statement saying the forward had been diagnosed with a shoulder sprain and would be re-evaluated next week. Flagg then missed the Mavs' succeeding game against the San Antonio Spurs, which Dallas lost 122-106.

Naji Marshall and Zaccharie Risacher both started in place of Flagg and Kyrie Irving against the Spurs. But with Irving set to return and Marshall out due to illness, Risacher could get another chance to start. The former No. 1 overall pick is averaging 8.7 points and 5.3 rebounds in three games this season.
