The 2027 Irish Open has been brought forward by two months.
Next year's tournament, which will be played at the K Club in County Kildare, will take place across July 1-4.
It represents a deviation from its usual slot on the DP World Tour's calendar, with the event typically held in September.
The Irish Open was previously contested in July but was moved to September in 2023.
Next year's tournament was shifted to July due to the 2027 Ryder Cup, which is pencilled in for September 17-19.
Rory McIlroy to play in 2027 Irish Open
Despite the new dates and the prospect of a third-straight Ryder Cup success looming large, Northern Irish superstar Rory McIlroy confirmed he plans to be among the contenders at the K Club in 2027.
"I'll obviously be there, I'll play," McIlroy told BBC Sport Northern Ireland.
"Field wise, we'll see. I'm not so sure. The Scottish Open will be the week after and a lot of the guys are probably going to play that.
"But I get it. The Ryder Cup's in Ireland next year and something had to give."
McIlroy and the rest of the field that makes up next year's Irish Open field will look to use the tournament as key preparation for the 2027 Open Championship, which will be played at St Andrews in Scotland.
Shane Lowry wins 2026 Irish Open
Shane Lowry goes into the 2027 Irish Open with the target on his back after he took out this year's edition.
It was the first time Lowry had won his home tournament since 2009, when he famously emerged victorious despite his amateur status.
Lowry was in fine fettle at Doonbeg as he eased to an 11-stroke victory with a final score of 23-under.
The remarkable 11-stroke gap set a new Irish Open record for the largest winning margin in tournament history.
Lowry then toasted his triumph at a pub in West Clare, where he sang with the Irish Open trophy in one hand and a can of Bulmer's cider in the other.
But it was soon back to reality for Lowry as he along with 14 other European stars headed to Adare Manor, the venue for next year's Ryder Cup, on Monday.
Members of Europe skipper Luke Donald's squad took to the range and played a round, with Lowry at the centre of attention following his Irish Open win.
However, McIlroy was a notable absentee, although he was later seen arriving at Wentworth in Surrey ahead of this weekend's BMW PGA Championship.
