The Cincinnati Bengals were living and dying by their offense once again in Week 7. Cincinnati pulled off a massive second-half comeback against Baltimore last week, scoring 35 unanswered points. Bengals fans should not have to worry about one offensive superstar after his recent injury update.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport declared on Thursday that Ja'Marr Chase's injury status is nothing to worry about. He characterized it as far less worrisome than Broncos receiver Jaylen Waddle, who may not play in Week 8.

“Neither did Ja'Marr Chase for the Cincinnati Bengals. This one far, far less worrisome, was listed as a rest day along with an ankle,” Rapoport said on Thursday via Good Morning Football. “This is not considered to be a major deal in the Cincinnati Bengals, whose offense is humming. At least it was in the second half last week against the Baltimore Ravens.”

Chase did not practice on Wednesday, a development that had some Bengals fans worried. After all, Cincinnati's offense simply is not the same without Chase on the field.

The panic stemmed from the fact that Chase had an injury designation that included both rest and a specific injury. That made it unclear if the injury was severe enough to keep him off the practice field. Instead, it sounds like it was simply a veteran rest day.

The Bengals are not out of the woods yet, though. If Chase misses another practice this week, concerns about his health are bound to pop up again.

One reason for the concern is that Cincinnati is in a tight race with every team in the AFC North. All four teams have either four or five wins, leaving practically no margin between first place and last.

Fortunately, the Bengals face an incredibly beatable opponent in Week 8. They should have an easy time getting a win, with or without Chase.

Next up for the Bengals is a home game against the Titans.
