The Kansas City Chiefs will be facing the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football, and everyone is anticipating the return of Patrick Mahomes. The quarterback went down with a season-ending injury late last year, but he immediately got surgery and worked hard to get back to the field. His goal was always to make it back by Week 1, and he did so.

The hype train is definitely surrounding Mahomes know, and Ian Rapoport is driving it after seeing him in training camp.

“He's coming back from a torn ACL, torn LCL far, far faster than anyone would have possibly thought it,” Rapoport said on NFL GameDay. “I saw the Kansas City Chiefs in training camp, and I gotta say, it was eye-popping how good Mahomes looked on the field. My understanding is, statistically, when it comes to touchdowns, interceptions, completions, playmaking, in training camp, he had one of his best training camps that he's had in years.

“So rehab-wise, strength-wise, how is he? Here is my understanding. His strength is symmetrical from side to side. That is a very good thing for Mahomes. Obviously, only had surgery on one of his knees. His function is the same side to side, and his graft is fully healed.”

That's great news for the Chiefs, and it sounds like he'll have no limitations as far as what he can do on the field. He's supposed to be wearing a brace on his knee that could affect his mobility just a bit, but it shouldn't be much to worry about.

The only worry is that he's going up against one of the best defenses in the league in his return, and they're going to test him as much as they can throughout the game. This should be a real test for Mahomes, and it's probably what he's looking for.
