Coach Mike Vrabel's New England Patriots are 5-3 on the season heading into Week 9's home game against the Green Bay Packers, and QB Drake Maye is running out of weapons. Maye has a tough task on his hands against Jordan Love and the Packers with star wideout AJ Brown's injury concerns continuing.

The Pats made a move to replenish their receiver room with a familiar face, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, who shared the news that Mack Hollins was added to the team's 53-man roster.

Hollins has played in four games with the Pats this season, and has caught 15 passes for 209 yards with a long of 26. At 6-foot-4, the 33-year-old North Carolina Tar Heels alumnus provides a similarly big target to Brown that Maye can push the ball to downfield when the situation warrants it. Hollins' best receiving yards season came in 2025, when he recorded 550 yards with Vrabel and Maye's team en route to a Super Bowl appearance.

The Patriots will be without potential star running back TreVeyon Henderson against Green Bay, as Henderson got a message from his head coach. Rhamondre Stevenson will start at running back, giving Maye a versatile target out of the backfield who has caught 20 passes for over 200 yards and a touchdown this season.

The Patriots aren't at full strength, but they're still going strong at 5-3 heading into Week 3. Hollins is just the kind of veteran leader they need with Brown on the shelf as they move forward.
