It has been about five months since Drew McIntyre lost to Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 42, and his WWE hiatus due to his filming schedule seemingly has no end in sight.

After the company's recent South America tour, Sean Ross Sapp spoke to the “Scottish Warrior” at the Nashville Pro Wrestling Symphony (via Sportskeedia Wrestling), and he acknowledged that he “missed” the ring. Apparently, he “wished” he was able to work the recent tour, having “enjoyed” them in the past.

“He's not really used to being off this long, but he's been working on, like, several movies since WrestleMania,” Ross Sapp explained. “It's been like five months that he's been out now, but he's still working out in the ring.”

Ross Sapp noted that McIntyre “looks great, looks huge.” However, the “Scottish Warrior” didn't give a timetable for when his return may come.

When will Drew McIntyre return to WWE from his 5-month hiatus?

There is no timetable for McIntyre's return to the ring. Assuming his filming obligations are finished, he would likely be free to come back at any time.

The next WWE PLE is Money in the Bank on Oct. 10. Perhaps McIntyre could return during the men's ladder match. Crown Jewel will follow a few weeks later on Nov. 7. The shows in Saudi Arabia are known to be star-studded; maybe WWE will bring McIntyre back for it.

It's unknown who he will feud with upon his return. His beef with Fatu was seemingly put to rest at WrestleMania 42 after he lost. However, he has a long history with Roman Reigns and the Bloodline. He could always resume that beef with the “Tribal Chief,” who is the reigning World Heavyweight Champion.

McIntyre took a break after WrestleMania 42 to film his next two movies, Highlander and The Last Druid. The former also stars his Killer's Game co-star, Dave Bautista, and A-listers Henry Cavill and Russell Crowe. The latter also features Crowe.
