MIAMI – As the Miami Heat got their second straight win on Friday against the Indiana Pacers, 145-125, it was another step in the right direction for the team that is still in the process of meshing its newcomers with its returning players. With Klay Thompson having an explosive game for the Heat after a slow start, the win also featured the chemistry building between Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo.

It was a second straight game that both Antetokounmpo and Adebayo scored at least 20 points, as Friday saw more improvement in the two not getting in each other's way.

Heat's Giannis Antetokounmpo highlights Bam Adebayo

Speaking after the game, Antetokounmpo gave a science lesson to the media, saying that he and Adebayo need to be like “magnets.” Antetokounmpo was asked after the win what has stood out the most in the past two wins, saying Adebayo, without hesitation, highlighted the defensive challenges and “setting the tone for the team,” which makes it easier for the rest of the Heat.

“Obviously, I gotta keep on creating space for Bam. We gotta be like how magnets are, and they stick together. But if you flip them, they try to go away from one another. That's how me and Bam gotta be,” Antetokounmpo said. “When he's in the top, I gotta walk the baseline. When I'm on the top, he gotta walk the baseline. We just gotta keep on being away from one another, away from one another's space in the vicinity, and sometimes that he's gonna have the ball, is gonna go one-on-one and try to get to his spot to create for himself for the team.”

There's no doubt that Antetokounmpo and Adebayo have been learning their science, as each had productive games, with the two-time MVP recording his second straight triple-double with Miami, having 31 points, 18 rebounds, and 10 assists. As for Adebayo, he scored 27 points on 11-of-14 shooting from the field with nine rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
