Playing Major League Baseball in Southern California seems like the dream. You have great weather for the most part, no shortage of fans come to the games and you get to live by the beach if you choose to do so. The only problem is that if you have been an MLB player for the Los Angeles Angels anytime since 2015, you haven't experienced the postseason. Outfielder Jo Adell made his debut with the Angels in 2020, but was traded to the Cleveland Guardians earlier this year.

The Halos have not been in the MLB playoffs since 2014. Meanwhile, the Guardians have been a consistent playoff contender for the most part over the past decade. Cleveland is once again in the postseason this year after winning the American League Central division, meaning Adell will get his first taste of playoff baseball.

“Obviously haven't had the chance to play in October, meaningful baseball since I debuted,” Adell said Friday, via Natalie Turk of NEO Sports Insiders. “Really just being in this environment, having this opportunity and being with a team that knows what it takes to play at this time of year and to win, it's been awesome.

“The coolest part is being able to come in, just be myself and play my game… I'm excited to really get started and get the first postseason game.”

Guardians closer Cade Smith previously said he's excited for many of his teammates who haven't played in the MLB playoffs to experience the postseason this year. The atmosphere in Cleveland is special, as the Guards have a passionate and loyal fanbase. It may be a smaller market, but Cleveland knows how to bring the energy for a postseason game in any sport, especially when it comes to baseball.
