The Giants will have three quarterbacks on their 53-man roster.
Per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, New York is signing Jake Haener back to the active roster from the team’s practice squad.
Haener had previously been promoted to the 53-man roster after Jaxson Dart suffered his season-ending knee injury. But Haener was waived and re-signed to the practice squad after the club traded for J.J. McCarthy.
With three QBs on the active roster, the Giants will be able to designate either McCarthy or Haener as the emergency third quarterback.
At 3-1, the Giants will be on the road to face the Commanders in Week 5.
