The New York Giants are currently gearing up for their Week 5 game against the Washington Commanders on the road. The Giants improbably sit at 3-1 so far this year despite not playing very well overall, having recently knocked off the Arizona Cardinals at home.

Injuries have been a major issue for New York this year, headlined by starting quarterback Jaxson Dart, and now, the team has gotten a cryptic injury update regarding star wide receiver Malik Nabers.

“Malik Nabers says he's ‘sore.' More sore than usual. Did as much as he could at practice. Nabers said ‘we'll see' as to whether it will affect his ability to play Sunday vs. Commanders. But adds he usually gets better as the week progresses,” reported Jordan Raanan of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.

Meanwhile, Nabers did not practice on Wednesday for the Giants, per NFL insider Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network on X.

Nabers is arguably the best overall player on the Giants' roster, having established himself as a star over his first season and change in the league before going down with a torn ACL last season, cutting his second year in the league short.

However, he was back in time to start this season, although it's certainly understandable that he and the team would want to be extra cautious with any discomfort he might experience as the campaign progresses.

In any case, the Giants will hit the field to take on the Commanders on the road on Sunday at 1:00 pm ET from Landover, Maryland.
