Will the New York Giants be major players at the trade deadline? There’s already a rumor that they could be in the mix for RB Jonathan Taylor. And tight end Isaiah Likely dropped a “more the merrier” admission about the team’s potential trades, according to a post on X by Connor J Hughes.

“The more the merrier when it comes to great players.” – Isaiah Likely on the #Giants aggression at the NFL trade deadline.

It has been a surprising first half for the Giants, who stand at 4-2-1 and lead the NFC East. The Cowboys (3-5) are three games back in the loss column.

Are the Giants seeking reinforcements?

Likely isn’t the only player interested in seeing the team make a move. Safety Jason Pinnock is on board with the team adding a talent like Taylor, according to NJ,com.

“That would be amazing for sure,” safety Jason Pinnock told NJ.com on Monday. “I like him, man. Explosive. One thing you pay for in the league is those home-run backs. You want home-run backs. That’s kind of what you shoot for.

“If you don’t have a good angle as a post safety, it’s over with. There are very few in this league like him — a healthy Saquon [Barkley], [Jahmyr] Gibbs. It’s a few.”

Also, rookie right guard Francis Mauigoa would like to block for Taylor.

“That would be awesome,” Mauigoa said. “I’ve heard a lot about him, watched a lot of his film. He’s a great runner. It would be awesome to add him to the roster and help us get where we’re aiming for.

“I feel like he has a good vision of the field when he runs the ball. He kind of reminds me of a version of Le’Veon [Bell] — patience and then hit the gap right away. He runs hard. The tape really tells that.”

Many NFL observers are wondering if the Giants have what it takes to hold off the Cowboys. But the Giants seem to believe in their coach. And they stood strong through seven games. Thanks to some help from the Commanders.
