Georgia football absorbed the biggest loss of Saturday in falling to unranked Auburn 27-24. Coach Kirby Smart now must accept the likelihood his Bulldogs will drop out of their No. 1 ranking. But he believes this loss isn't a big deal to him.

Smart addressed reporters postgame and acknowledged the defeat is a tough one.

“Humility is a week away,” Smart began. “Auburn played better than us and executed better than us. They didn't turn the ball over and hit the red area with plays.”

But felt his Bulldogs beat themselves too in Athens.

“We also had some really untimely undisciplined and uncharacteristic penalties,” Smart added. “I give them credit. But at the end of the day, we'll clean it up and everything we want to do is still in front of us.”

Finally, he added why he's ignored the significance of this loss.

“I know it's a big deal for everyone but me. It's another game and we have to turn around and be ready to go play again because it's a war in this league. Week in and week out, everybody can beat everybody,” Smart said.

So another words, Smart doesn't want to dwell too much on this defeat and wants the same for his team. This loss doesn't severely damage Georgia's SEC title pursuit. Nor even the Bulldogs' desire to make the College Football Playoffs and gun for a third national title under Smart.

But Saturday's loss proved that even Georgia can look human on the football field. Now Smart must pick up the debris from this destructive loss.
