Coach Alex Golesh's Auburn Tigers sent a message that rippled across the SEC and beyond during Week 7 as they got a walk-off field goal in a winning effort against No. 1 Georgia from Alex McPherson, who was lifted up by his teammates. The field goal led to a 27-24 win and had Auburn fans going berserk after toppling coach Kirby Smart's juggernaut in Athens, Georgia.

After the game, Golesh spoke about the importance of his team taking advantage of their opportunities.

“You have a certain amount of opportunities like that, you have a limited amount of opportunities in your life…You have to be able to capitalize on the opportunities you get, and it's in football, it's in life. It's still about helping these dudes grow up to become men…It's unique in football because you know what's on your schedule, just challenge them to believe in each other, challenge them to play one play at a time.

The loss caused Smart to make a statement about what the Auburn game means to him, and to speak about the importance of humility. Smart's defense was humbled by Auburn QB Byrum Brown, who threw for 150 yards and a touchdown and ran for 115 yards and another score. Auburn was outgained in the yardage department by the Bulldogs as Georgia finished with 440 total yards to 366 for the Tigers.

It didn't matter as Auburn made good on its coach's area of focus, taking advantage of the most important opportunities and scoring a huge road win that few if anyone saw coming. Golesh's team will be back at it against LSU in Week 8, continuing its quest for an SEC title, while savoring one of the biggest upsets in years along the way.
