Oregon State football wide receiver Jesse LeGree turned on the jets for a 90-yard touchdown rumble Saturday. That eventually led to his seventh straight 100-yard outing in the 48-30 romp of Washington State. But LeGree hit a feat faster than potential Heisman Trophy contender Jeremiah Smith of Ohio State.

Smith has garnered national attention for his stellar play across three seasons. But now LeGree owns this title: The first 1,000-yard wideout of the 2026 season.

And once again, he gets past the century mark before the projected Heisman finalist and potential first round NFL Draft pick. But LeGree also is posting astronomical numbers compared to another high impact wideout in Miami's Malachi Toney.

Still, the former three-star recruit LeGree is turning heads out west. Plus sparking renewed energy for a Beavers program that had grown stagnant. Plus left behind in the Pac-12 as former members USC, UCLA, Cal, even Oregon State's longtime rival Oregon all defected to other conferences.

Head coach JaMarcus Shephard has leaned into the uncanny play of LeGree to reignite interest for the Beavs. LeGree entered Saturday averaging an astonishing 24.5 yards per catch and bringing 12 receiving touchdowns in tow to Reser Stadium against the Cougars.

LeGree tacked on two more touchdowns on the evening in this Pac-12 showdown, handing him 14 in just seven games. His play also has Oregon State red-hot suddenly following its 0-2 start. LeGree now has the Beavers sitting at 5-2 overall.

Oregon State clinches bowl eligibility by beating Fresno State next Saturday on the road. And the Bulldogs dropped their last home game against Boise State, which can place LeGree and Oregon State at an advantage.
