Jets first-round pick Kenyon Sadiq has his first NFL touchdown catch.
Sadiq made a diving catch on a rope from quarterback Geno Smith to get the Jets on the board in the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Lions. The 24-yard score has the Jets up 7-3 with 5:33 to play in the first half.
The rookie tight end ran for a touchdown in Week 1, but this was the first time he found the end zone through the air. He has two catches for 29 yards and Jeremy Ruckert has three early catches as the Jets are making good use of their tight ends with wide receiver Adonai Mitchell inactive.
Smith is 12-of-14 for 110 yards overall and the Jets defense has come up with a couple of sacks and three third-down stops to slow the Lions offense down thus far.
