As the Florida State football program lost to the SMU Mustangs last week, 27-24, the team looks to bounce back, though they could be without these two players, each on one side of the ball.

According to college football insider Pete Nakos of On3 Sports, defensive lineman Darryll Desir and wide receiver Tae'Shaun Gelsey are listed as “questionable” for the Seminoles' game against the Crimson Tide on Saturday afternoon.

“Florida State EDGE Darryll Desir and wide receiver Tae’Shaun Gelsey are questionable for Saturday at Alabama, sources tell [On3 Sports],” Nakos wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Looking at Desir, the sophomore would play in Florida State's opening 34-17 win over New Mexico State, but would end up missing the next contest in the aforementioned loss to the Mustangs. Only recording one tackle in the New Mexico State win, the EDGE rusher looks to make a mark this season, hoping to return from the injury that is currently undisclosed.

Gelsey is also dealing with an undisclosed injury, as the sophomore has yet to make his 2026 debut for the Seminoles, with Saturday's game against Alabama potentially being the place for it. At any rate, it remains to be seen if either Desir or Gelsey will play for the Florida State football team on Saturday as the program looks for an upset win over the No. 10-ranked team in the country.
