Chargers battle substantial attrition across the board with four players ruled out and five starters carrying questionable tags into Week 4
The Los Angeles Chargers enter Week 4 facing a critical early-season test that will push their overall roster depth to the limit. Navigating through the opening month of the campaign is rarely seamless in the NFL, but head coach Jim Harbaugh and his staff find themselves managing one of the league's most crowded medical reports heading into the weekend. Friday’s final practice sheet brought significant cause for concern, as Los Angeles officially ruled out four contributors while tagging five more key players as questionable ahead of Sunday's interconference clash.

The offensive side took immediate blows with three players ruled out of action. Guard Kayode Awosika will miss Sunday's contest due to a fibula injury after failing to practice on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. His absence leaves the interior offensive line without valuable rotation snaps.
Tight end Charlie Kolar was also declared out with a forearm injury despite making an appearance in a limited capacity on Friday after missing Wednesday and Thursday sessions. Wide receiver Brenen Thompson rounds out the offensive scratches, as he was unable to log any practice reps all week due to a lingering quadricep issue.
Defensively, the front takes a major hit with defensive lineman Dalvin Tomlinson officially ruled out. Tomlinson could not take the field Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday due to a hamstring injury. Losing Tomlinson's anchor and interior gap-plugging ability deprives the Chargers of their premier run-stuffer in the trenches.
High-profile playmakers listed as questionable for Sunday

Beyond those ruled out, the Chargers have five players carrying questionable designations who will likely require pregame evaluations before kickoff.
Top wide receiver Ladd McConkey is questionable due to a foot issue. McConkey was limited Wednesday, sat out Thursday, and returned for a limited session Friday. McConkey serves as the offense's primary separator and chain-mover, making his presence vital for the passing attack. Backup quarterback Trey Lance is also questionable after being limited all week with a groin issue, which could leave Los Angeles thin at signal-caller if he cannot dress.
In the secondary, defensive coordinator Jesse Minter faces steep challenges with three defensive backs tagged questionable. All-Pro safety Derwin James is questionable with a hamstring injury after working in a limited role Wednesday, sitting out Thursday, and returning to limited reps Friday. Cornerback Donte Jackson is navigating concussion protocol; while he progressed from non-participation Wednesday to limited Thursday and full participation Friday, he remains formally questionable. Defensive back Elijah Molden also carries a questionable tag after logging limited sessions across all three days with a hamstring problem.
Veteran pass rushers and key contributors cleared cleanly
Despite the long list of question marks, the Chargers received encouraging news regarding several veteran anchors who avoided game status designations entirely.
Edge rushers Khalil Mack and Bud Dupree are fully cleared to lead the pass rush. Mack sat out Wednesday for non-injury rest before logging full practices Thursday and Friday. Dupree did not practice Thursday for rest but returned to full participation on Friday. Both outside linebackers will play without limitation.
Along the defensive line, Justin Eboigbe showed positive progress from an eye injury, moving from non-participation Wednesday to limited work Thursday and a full workload Friday to avoid an injury tag. In the backfield, running back Keaton Mitchell is also good to go after managing an ankle issue throughout the week. Mitchell was limited on Wednesday and Thursday before participating fully on Friday, ensuring the Chargers will have his speed available to complement the ground game on Sunday afternoon.
