Kelsey Mitchell made WNBA history that surpassed one of Rhyne Howard's records in the Indiana Fever's season finale against the Minnesota Lynx on Thursday night.

Mitchell completed the ninth regular season of her career with the Fever. She shines as one of the best scorers in the league, setting records throughout the 2026 campaign.

Mitchell has also been a willing shooter from beyond the arc. Going into the season finale, she made 133 3-pointers throughout the season. She trailed Howard's 134 triples for the all-time record in a single season.

Mitchell didn't have the best shooting night but still pulled off the record-breaking achievement. In 22 minutes of action, she finished with 10 points, two rebounds, one assist, and one steal. She shot 3-of-12 from the field, including 2-of-6 from beyond the arc. With Indiana's regular season over, Mitchell concludes with 135 total triples.

Kelsey Mitchell and the Fever lost in an 86-66 blowout on the road against the Lynx. Despite this, they are already playoff bound as they gear up for a crucial journey in the postseason.

Only one player scored in double-digits for Indiana in the loss, including Mitchell. Grace VanSlooten finished with nine points and two rebounds. Bree Hall came next with eight points and five rebounds, while Raven Johnson, Monique Billings and Myisha Hines-Allen scored six points each.

Indiana ends the regular season with a 28-16 record. They secured third place in the Eastern Conference standings, being above the New York Liberty and the Chicago Sky while trailing the Washington Mystics and the Atlanta Dream.

The Fever will look forward to their journey in the WNBA Playoffs. The postseason commences in the coming days as the first round starts on Sept. 27.
