The Indiana Fever dropped to the No. 6 seed after losing to the Minnesota Lynx, 86-66, at Target Center on Thursday.

The Fever, who crushed the Lynx on Tuesday, finished the regular season with a 28-16 record.

Indiana hoped to get as high as the No. 4 seed, but the win by the Atlanta Dream against the New York Liberty on Wednesday prevented that. A win against the Lynx could have given them the No. 5 seed since they owned the tie-breaker with the Washington Mystics. The Mystics beat the Chicago Sky on Thursday and finished with a 28-16 record.

Despite falling to the No. 6 seed and ending their regular season on a sour note, there is good news for the Fever: Aliyah Boston does not have a major injury.

Boston only played 13 minutes against the Lynx, tallying four points, three rebounds, and one steal. She did not appear in the second half.

With the lopsided affair, Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell did not play much either. Clark had two points on 1-of-12 shooting, four rebounds, and three assists in 18 minutes. Mitchell scored 10 points on 3-of-12 shooting in 22 minutes, ending her record-setting 20-point streak at 27 straight games.

Obviously, the Fever cannot afford to lose Boston in the playoffs, and being extra cautious with her was a smart move.

Unfortunately, Indiana lost Ty Harris to an ankle injury in the third quarter. She had to be carried off the floor and went to the locker room. As of this writing, there is no update yet on Harris.
