The tension was palpable at the onset for the Indiana Fever and Las Vegas Aces on Thursday, as they faced off in the do-or-die Game 3 of their first-round series in the playoffs at Michelob ULTRA Arena.

Just three minutes into the contest, Caitlin Clark and Brianna Turner were each called for a technical foul for their heated moment. Turner tried to sneak into the Fever's huddle during a lull, prompting Clark to push her away.

The chippiness was expected in the high-stakes affair, with the winner advancing to the semifinals.

Clark has always been a fiery competitor, and she did not want the Aces to have a sliver of an edge on them. Turner, meanwhile, was trying to get into the heads of the Fever.

As of this writing, Las Vegas is leading Indiana by a small margin in the second quarter. Clark has 11 points, four assists, and two blocks, while A'ja Wilson has 21 points on 7-of-8 shooting.
