Falcons rookie linebacker Kendal Daniels suffered what appeared to be a serious head or neck injury today against the Bears.

Daniels tackled Bears tight end Colston Loveland, and on the hit, Daniels’ facemask collided with Loveland’s knee. Daniels stayed down and quickly got medical attention.

While Daniels was down on the field for several minutes, teammates knelt and were visibly upset. Eventually Daniels was put on a stretcher and taken off the field on a cart. His jersey was cut off by by the medical personnel on the scene and his neck was immobilized. He appeared to be conscious and moving a hand.

The 23-year-old Daniels was a fourth-round draft pick out of Oklahoma this year. He was born and raised in Oklahoma and had played for Oklahoma State before transferring to Oklahoma in 2025.

The Falcons have now lost both of the linebackers who wear the green dot helmet and call the defensive plays. Daniels had been put in that role after Divine Deablo left today’s game with an arm injury.
