Falcons linebacker Kendal Daniels suffered a scary injury during today’s loss to the Bears, but the Falcons offered some good news after the game.

“Kendal Daniels is alert and has movement in all his extremities. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for further evaluation,” the Falcons said in a statement.

Daniels was injured when he tackled Bears tight end Colston Loveland and Daniels’ facemask collided with Loveland’s knee. Daniels was moving, but he stayed down and seemed to be in distress as the Falcons’ medical staff rushed onto the field.

While Daniels was down on the field getting medical attention for several minutes, teammates knelt and were visibly upset. Eventually Daniels was put on a stretcher and taken off the field on a cart. His jersey was cut off by by the medical personnel on the scene and his neck was immobilized.

The 23-year-old Daniels was a fourth-round draft pick out of Oklahoma this year.
