The Bills are in a battle with the Raiders in Las Vegas, and they will have to play the second half without safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson.
Gardner-Johnson began jawing with Tyler Linderbaum and Brock Bowers before spitting in their direction. Officials ejected Gardner-Johnson with 14 seconds left in the half. The NFL could suspend Gardner-Johnson for next week’s game, too.
His 14-yard penalty — half the distance — allowed Matt Gay to tie the game 13-13 with a 27-yard field goal on the final play of the half.
Buffalo scored on its first three possessions, but only one of those was a touchdown.
Tyler Bass kicked field goals of 44 and 28 yards on drives of 30 and 58 yards. The Bills’ touchdown drive went 85 yards in nine plays, with Khalil Shakir catching a 9-yard pass from Josh Allen.
The Bills have outgained the Raiders only 176 to 170.
Allen is 12-of-16 for 144 yards and a touchdown. The Raiders have sacked him twice. James Cook has eight carries for 36 yards.
Raiders quarterback Kirk Cousins is 12-of-17 for 126 yards. Ashton Jeanty has eight carries for 27 yards and a touchdown, adding four catches for 36 yards. Michael Mayer has five catches for 52 yards.
