John Harbaugh set the record straight on the quarterback battle between Jameis Winston and J.J. McCarthy following the New York Giants' 34-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday afternoon.

Winston struggled to create scores against New Orleans' defense, completing 14 out of 26 passes for 152 yards and a touchdown and two interceptions. They trailed 27-10 throughout the first three quarters.

McCarthy entered the game in the final period, and almost immediately produced a comeback. He created 17 points as he completed 11 out of 21 passes for 243 yards and a touchdown and an interception.

Harbaugh reflected on both quarterbacks' performances after the game, per reporter Pat Leonard. He was adamant that he won't announce a change right after the game, stating that McCarthy will need more time before being ready to take over the starting job should Winston struggle once again.

“I can’t answer that right now. It’s not up for conversation right now. Those things will be decided NOT 10 minutes after the game,” Harbaugh said.

“He says he has no problem with Jameis Winston and both QBs made plays, J.J. McCarthy played a heck of a game, but he’s not there yet,” Leonard wrote.
