It's been almost a year since Chicago Bulls legend Horace Grant announced his new TV series, “Legends in Session.” Urban Grind TV in Chicago produced the series, which features NBA legends talking with Horace about their lives and careers, and uses the platform to give back to charity.
Now, the series is coming full circle.
On October 24, “Legends in Session” will officially debut on the Chicago Sports Network.
It's a project that Grant didn't have in the cards, but is truly grateful for.
“I am so excited out of this world,” Grant said to ClutchPoints. “If somebody told me 15 or 20 years I would be hosting a show, man, you crazy.”
The guest lineup is a who's who of greatness, even in the first 3 episodes alone. In order: Charles Oakley, Phil Jackson, and Toni Kukoc. All of whom Grant had played against during his time with the Bulls from 1987 to 1994.
In the series, each of them opened up about it all, including things that Grant himself didn't know before. While not giving too much away, Grant did share an ultimate ‘mic drop' moment from Jackson.
“Phil said a whole bunch of things that I didn’t know happened with the Bulls in terms of his philosophy on a lot of things,” Grant said. “I said something like, ‘ You are the Zen master. He corrected me; he was like, ‘Horace, I’m not the Zen master because Zen could never be mastered.'”
The other guests include his brother Harvey, Vernon Maxwell, Robert Horry, Bill Cartwright, and Kendall Gill. He also features World Series champion and MVP Jose Rijo and 1983 American League Rookie of the Year Ron Kittle.
Beyond reliving old times, Grant's labor of love is really about love
Horace Grant wants to celebrate the legends in the here and now
One of Luther Vandross' best hits is “Here and Now,” which is about embracing love in the present reality. If anything, Grant is doing just that with this series, wanting to show the legends of the game love while they are still with us.
Fortunately, he was able to do that with his former teammate, whom he affectionately calls his “brother,” Stacey King, who passed away in June. King is featured in an episode, and Grant says it was special for all the obvious reasons.

That alone became the impetus for him to forge ahead and bring on more guests to do just one thing.
“My objective is to give my former teammates and opponents their flowers now,” Grant said. “I was so very fortunate to give my late great friend Stacey King his flowers.”
Grant said he would love to invite Scottie Pippen, Shaquille O'Neal, Penny Hardaway, and Gary Payton. All of whom he played with during his career on the Bulls, Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, and Seattle SuperSonics. He also wants to keep it in Sweet Home Chicago and invite local greats like Tim Hardaway, Marcus Liberty, Eddie Johnson, and Derrick Rose.
Expect it to go viral, but for the right reasons.
