On Thursday, Pete Crow-Armstrong joined the exclusive 40/40 club. Another feather in his cap for what is becoming an MVP season for Crow-Armstrong.

The numbers speak for themselves. He is batting .280 with 172 hits, 45 home runs, 40 stolen bases, and 107 RBIs. However, stolen bases are the key here.

The moment came in the first inning at Wrigley Field against the Miami Marlins. He stole second base and received warm applause from the crowd at the Friendly Confines.

Even as the Cubs hang on for dear life in the playoffs, they can take pride in PCA's exploits.

He is one of seven players to achieve the 40/40 feat, hitting 40 home runs and stealing 40 bases. The others include Jose Canseco, Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez, Alfonso Soriano, Ronald Acuña Jr., and Shohei Ohtani.

Canseco led the league in 1988, hitting 42 home runs and stealing 40 bases with the Oakland Athletics.

Since 2023, Crow-Armstrong has become an effective presence on the base paths. In 2023, he stole only 2 bases.

The following year, he stole 27 bases. Last year, PCA finished with 35 stolen bases as the Cubs made it to the postseason.

The Cubs will conclude the season against the Boston Red Sox on the road. Plenty of time for PCA to round the bases.
