The Miami Heat will parade a new core in the upcoming season after acquiring Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bobby Portis, Klay Thompson, and Tim Hardaway Jr. during a productive summer.

Antetokounmpo, Portis, Thompson, and Hardaway added depth and experience to the Heat. They will join Bam Adebayo, Andrew Wiggins, Davion Mitchell, and Pelle Larsson in the main rotation, as Miami aims to return to the NBA Finals after its last appearance in 2023.

Many hailed the Heat's roster moves. Olden Polynice, however, was not one of them. Polynice, who had a long career in the NBA, picked Miami when asked to name the team with the “most overrated offseason.”

“Gave up too many assets for Giannis. Just too many. He and Bam are going to bump. They're gonna collide,” said Polynice on “Byron Scott's Fast Break.”

“That was a lot of assets. A lot of your future. Then this is the funny part: This man was already talking about, ‘I'm going to finish my career in Milwaukee.' You haven't even played one game in Miami yet!”

Polynice played in the NBA from 1987 to 2003.

Antetokounmpo did say he would like to return to Milwaukee for a full-circle ending to his career. But he also stressed that his current focus is on helping the Heat and having a resurgent campaign after his tumultuous campaign last season.

To get the two-time MVP, along with Portis, Miami sent Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, the draft rights to Nate Ament, a first-round swap in 20230, first-round picks in 2031 and 2033, and a second-round pick in 2033 to the Bucks.

The Heat will open their new season against the Minnesota Timberwolves on October 21.
