Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has an edge this year, exemplified by a fine he received for a defiant message on his cleats, and his bounce-back performances over the last two years from a previous injury. Coach Ben Johnson loves his superstar rise, but he will face his biggest challenge yet in Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle.

Williams has passed for over 300 yards in his past two games and is drawing Michael Jordan comparisons for his superstar turn. Former Bears star wideout Alshon Jeffery was asked to name Williams' closest teammate to Scottie Pippen by Kay Adams of Up & Adams, and he chose a young wide receiver who is also coming into his own with Johnson's team.

“Imma go with Rome (Odunze) as Scottie, and Luther (Burden III) is (Toni) Kukoc, both great players, both can play on their own, make big-time catches, can flip the field at any given moment,” Jeffery said.

“He's a big-time playmaker, I feel like, given a chance, he play above the rim, he can go up and make big plays, contested catches, his ceiling is through the roof…I would say, he's our X receiver, give him more opportunities, more chances.”

Odunze has 24 catches on 38 targets for 381 receiving yards this season, suggesting he is a top quality downfield threat. He has yet to record a receiving touchdown with the Bears this season. He is coming off of a 69-yard performance against the Patriots in Week 7, but received skepticism heading into the week among fantasy football players.

Odunze has a chance to vault up the NFL receiver rankings by hauling in a few touchdown catches headed toward the midway point of the season, but his value to the Bears is unquestioned, as Jeffery spoke to on Adams' show.
