The New England Patriots held the Pittsburgh Steelers to just three points in their 20-3 Week 2 win on Sunday. It was an impressive performance from the defense, as Pittsburgh couldn't get anything rolling offensively. Especially the passing the game, as Christian Gonzalez completely locked up DK Metcalf throughout the contest.
A 45 second video was shared on social media showcasing Gonzalez's strong performance against Metcalf. Watch the clip below and see the 24-year-old cornerback keep the Steelers' eight-year veteran wideout in check while trash talking all the game.

Gonzalez at least gave Metcalf some credit at the beginning of the video. The 6-foo-4, 235 lbs wide receiver is an athletic freak who uses his size and strength to his advantage. However, it didn't quite work out on Sunday, as the Patriots held DK Metcalf to just four receptions and 27 yards, despite having nine targets thrown his way from Aaron Rodgers.
Through two games so far this season, Christian Gonzalez appears to be in midseason form. The fourth-year veteran has totaled six combined tackles (five solo) and four pass deflections. He has yet to record an interception yet, but he likely hopes to get one soon considering Gonzalez has not intercepted a pass since the 2024-25 campaign.
We'll see if he can maintain his high level of play in Week 3. Gonzalez and the Patriots will have their hands full against a high flying Jacksonville Jaguars offense. Parker Washington has been the go-to pass catcher so far for Trevor Lawrence. He's a completely different style of wide receiver than DK Metcalf, so it'll be interesting to see how Christian Gonzalez adjusts.
