Eagles vs. Titans prediction: Odds, expert picks, QB matchup, injury update, betting trends, and stats

The Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) head to Nashville Sunday afternoon to take on the Titans (0-1).

Philadelphia survived a late scare in Week 1, holding off the Commanders after Washington failed on a two-point conversion attempt with just over a minute remaining. Quarterback Jalen Hurts looked comfortable in the debut of offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, throwing for 203 yards and three touchdowns. Hurts routinely got outside the pocket and spread the ball effectively. Tight end Dallas Goedert was his favorite target, finishing with 77 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while newcomer Dontayvion Wicks added a touchdown catch and a 64-yard reception. Running back Saquon Barkley chipped in several explosive runs, including a key 42-yarder that set up a score. The Eagles made the game’s biggest play on defense in the closing moments when Moro Ojomo stopped Washington’s two-point attempt to preserve the victory.

To say the Titans struggled offensively in their season opener would be putting it nicely. They mustered only 10 points and totaled fewer than 200 yards of offense. They fell behind early and Cam Ward could never find a rhythm. The second-year signal-caller threw for just 127 yards. While the offense had no issue getting off the field, the defense struggled to contain Breece Hall and the Jets’ attack.

As a result of that failure against the Jets, a major storyline this week is Tennessee’s rush defense against Saquon Barkley. Another will be the overall game management of Cam Ward. Pressure is building on Ward to take a significant step this season in his development.

Let’s dive into the numbers and see if we can’t find a sweat or two.
