Saquon Barkley sent a hopeful message about Jalen Hurts' road to recovery from his blood clot situation as they progress through the Philadelphia Eagles' 2026 campaign.

Barkley has been playing in the NFL since 2018, going through his third season with the Eagles. He shines as one of the best running backs in the league, having played a major role in helping Philadelphia win Super Bowl 59.

However, Barkley has seen regressions in overall play since his career campaign in 2024. Injuries have had a role this season, seeing him miss several games.

Now, he sees his co-star Jalen Hurts out for the rest of the season. The star quarterback sustained blood clots that have since gone from his calf to his lungs, ultimately shutting him down for the rest of the campaign. Barkley spoke with media on Thursday, reflecting on Hurts' situation as he wishes his star teammate well.

“Knowing Jalen, this is just a little setback. He’s going to come back better from it. It’s probably hard to see that right now, but I know the type of person Jalen is and I truly believe in that,” Barkley said, per reporter Dave Zangaro.
