The Philadelphia Eagles will try to snap their two-game skid when they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in London on Saturday.

The Eagles fell short against the Los Angeles Rams, 24-20, in Week 4 to fall to 2-2.

Philadelphia elevated Dameon Pierce to the 53-man roster ahead of their clash against the Jaguars, hoping to pump life into their running game.

Coach Nick Sirianni expressed confidence in Pierce, calling him a starting-caliber player.

“I maybe wouldn't have said that when he was on our practice squad publicly because it's out of fear of losing him, but he's an NFL starting running back who was on our practice squad and put his chest up, got his head up, and went to work and was still the enjoyable person to be around on a daily basis. I'm excited for his opportunity,” said Siranni in a media conference.

It was a logical move for the Eagles, as Saquon Barkley and Tank Bigsby sustained a hamstring injury and a core injury, respectively, against the Rams. Barkley was deemed week-to-week, while Bigsby would need to undergo surgery.

Last season, the 26-year-old Pierce appeared in five games, splitting his time between the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs.

Pierce signed a one-year, $1.29 million contract with the Eagles in March.

He has career numbers of 419 carries for 1,684 rushing yards and four touchdowns. He has seen his opportunities dwindle since his rookie year with the Texans, who drafted him in the fourth round in 2022.

The Eagles are only averaging 109 rushing yards per outing, fourth-worst in the NFL.
