The Philadelphia Eagles are embroiled in a controversy after quarterback Jalen Hurts was diagnosed with blood clots in his lungs, ending his season.
The NFL has been urged to investigate the Eagles' potential culpability in Hurts' terrible setback, especially after the team cleared him to play in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London, which, in retrospect, was incredibly dangerous.
Amid the brouhaha, owner Jeffrey Lurie released a statement about his entry to the Eagles Hall of Fame.
“My induction into the Eagles Hall of Fame will always be a moment I look back on with immense pride. To join such a legendary group of individuals who have helped shape this franchise is an incredible honor and one that fills me with gratitude,” wrote Lurie.
“To our coaches, players, and front office, and to everyone who has proudly represented this organization, I am deeply grateful for your dedication, commitment, and shared pursuit of excellence.”

Fans quickly slammed Lurie, who bought the Eagles in 1994, for his tone-deaf letter.
“Kind of ironic to describe the Eagles this way and still not release a statement or speak to the press on Jalen. We deserve answers,” said @AshdeeDietz.
“Jeff, gonna address the elephant in the room?” asked @adcparker.
“Congrats, but don't try to distract us from that medical team situation. WE WANT ANSWERS,” demanded @ladub__.
“Jeff has been a good owner overall, but this is the worst time for this induction to happen,” posted @TannerJPlummer.

“Had time to make this statement, but not a statement about Jalen, LOL,” commented @Icy7Trea.
Lurie and general manager Howie Roseman have stayed peculiarly mum on the issue surrounding Hurts, who led the Eagles to the title in 2025.
Moreover, Philadelphia has not made its medical team available to the media.
The NFL and the NFL Players Association have released a joint statement, stressing that they will review the matter.
