The Philadelphia Eagles aim to advance to 2-0 on the season when they take on the Tennessee Titans in Week 2. However, the defense may be in trouble come Sunday after the team's latest injury update.

Reports indicate that Jonathan Greenard is ruled out for the Eagles' game against the Titans, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 29-year-old linebacker's debut with the team will be on standby for at least one more week.

“For the second straight week, the Eagles ruled out pass rusher Jonathan Greenard due to his pec injury,” Schefter reported.

Philly acquired the seven-year veteran this offseason after sending two third-round picks (2026 and 2027) to the Minnesota Vikings in a trade. Greenard suffered the pec injury right before the start of training camp. The Eagles opted not to place him on the IR before the start of the season, as the club still hopes he can return at some point before Week 4.

Jonathan Greenard was limited to just 12 games last season with the Vikings, as he was dealing with a lingering shoulder injury. He experienced a rather mediocre final year in Minnesota, recording 38 combined tackles (19 solo), three sacks, and one forced fumble. The plan is for Greenard to step into a starting role in Philadelphia whenever he returns from his current pec injury.

Nolan Smith Jr. is expected to start at left outside linebacker in Greenard's place. AJ Epenesa should see some extra playing time in a rotational role. Meanwhile, Jalyx Hunt and Arnold Ebiketie will play on the other side of the defensive line.
