Andy Dalton was thrown into the fire by the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football after Jalen Hurts exited in the second quarter against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.
Hurts went to the medical tent after taking a huge hit from D'Marco Jackson. Thus, Dalton had to step in and take the wheel.
His time under the spotlight, however, was as brief as a breeze. The 38-year-old quarterback threw a tough interception on third-and-goal, with Dillon Thieneman picking it off. Dalton was targeting Dontayvion Wicks at the end zone.
It was the first interception of Dalton's career.
Dalton immediately returned to the bench, as Hurts was cleared by the medical tent. Hurts scored on a one-yard punch to end the second period.
The Eagles went into the halftime break trailing the Bears, 10-7.
Philadelphia is looking to stay unbeaten in three games.
