Forward Draymond Green was given an ejection during the Golden State Warriors’ 116-113 win against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday, drawing all kinds of opinions amid his subpar game. One of the most vocal voices was former NBA player turned ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins who called Green a liability at this point in his career. Not to be undone, Green lashed out at Perkins via his podcast, ‘The Draymond Green Show,’ criticizing the difference near the end of their careers.

“Kendrick Perkins said Draymond Green is a liability, he ain’t no asset no more. And guess what Kendrick Perkins … at 36-years-old, to be 37 this year, I am 1000 percent not the player I once was … I’m not even close to the player I once was,” Green said. “But, Kendrick Perkins, the difference between myself and big dummies like you is I can think. And so when your body didn’t move the same no more, you weren’t as athletic as you once were, it looked a little different for you cause you weren’t the smartest basketball player.”

Green went on to say that he will not argue that he cannot jump as high or run as fast as he used to, but that he relies on his basketball IQ to still make an impact on the court, and that he is not a liability as Kendrick Perkins described him as.
