Los Angeles Dodgers slugger Kyle Tucker fell a triple short of the cycle Thursday, but his four-hit performance helped the Dodgers clinch another NL West title with an 8-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds.

Tucker went 4-for-5 with a two-run homer, two doubles, three RBIs and two runs at Great American Ball Park. The performance continued a productive September stretch for the four-time All-Star after an inconsistent first season with Los Angeles.

The former Houston Astros star, who won the World Series in 2022, started quickly with a two-run homer in the first inning before driving in another run with a double in the second. He singled and scored in the fourth, leaving him a triple shy of the cycle.

After flying out in the fifth, Tucker drove a line drive into the left-center-field gap in the eighth but stopped at second when the Reds returned the ball to the infield.

Tucker is now 12-for-29 (.414) with four homers over his last eight games. The 29-year-old entered Thursday batting .226 with 15 homers, 66 RBIs and a .700 OPS in his first Dodgers season after signing a four-year, $240 million contract in January. Thursday’s homer was his 16th.
