The Los Angeles Dodgers are on the brink of elimination after losing to the Milwaukee Brewers, 6-2, in Game 3 of the NLCS at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday.
The Dodgers blew their lead in the seventh inning, with Blake Snell giving up back-to-back home runs to Jake Bauers and Garrett Mitchell. Los Angeles did not recover, allowing the Brewers to complete the stunning comeback and move a win away from advancing to the World Series for only the second time.
BBWAA's Francys Romero noted that the Dodgers have repeated an unwanted distinction from six decades ago.
“The Dodgers have fallen behind 3-0 in a best-of-seven series only twice in franchise history: In the 1966 World Series (swept by the Baltimore Orioles) and today,” wrote Romero on X.
The Dodgers want to avoid a total reversal of last year's NLCS, wherein they swept the Brewers. Milwaukee has never beaten Los Angeles in a postseason series.
Snell was having a solid outing before faltering in the seventh inning. The two-time Cy Young winner gave up four runs and four hits. He had nine strikeouts and two walks.

Game 4 is on Thursday at the same venue.
