The calls made by the referees at the start of the NBA season have been a major topic, and Dillon Brooks in his latest media availability on Tuesday, specifically called out what he believes is preferential treatment toward Thunder players by the referees following their 125-114 loss to Oklahoma City.
“Refs talk and I think they have like a list of floppers. I think OKC flops a lot, but they don’t get called for it because they got a pedigree. It’s all pick and choose, and you got to realize that refs are human, they’re not robots, so they’re going to see what they see and call what they call.”
He pointed to a foul call from the previous game and believed that, while he got a technical, it should have been a double tech.
“That was the one call I didn't agree with Tony last game giving me a technical and not giving the other player a technical as well.”
Brooks took umbrage with the flagrant foul calls and believes that basketball is a physical game.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 26 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks in the first game the team played following the injury to Jalen Williams. Chet Holmgren also didn't play in the game.
