The Ravens got blown out for the third straight game on Thursday night and they lost their fourth straight overall, which led running back Derrick Henry to call it the “same story” after the Jaguars rolled to a 33-10 win in Baltimore.
Lamar Jackson only saw brief playing time in one of those losses, so the Ravens have been starting games in a hole throughout their losing streak. Jackson may not be back this season and that makes it hard to see any reason why the story that’s frustrating Henry is going to change before the year is out. Given the stage Henry’s at in his career, it wasn’t unusual that he was asked after the game if he was reconsidering his plan to remain with the Ravens until he hangs up his cleats.
Henry said that he isn’t thinking about changing uniforms.
“I have not mentioned me going anywhere else,” Henry said, via a transcript from the team. “I’m saying, ‘Let’s go back to work. Let’s try to get better and turn this thing around.”
The trade deadline is Tuesday and any team looking to bolster their backfield could do a lot worse than adding one of the most prolific backs in the history of the league. While a move may not be Henry’s first choice, it could turn out to be the best course of action for the Ravens and he might find he likes being back on a team that can seriously talk about contending during the second half of the season.
